Update:

The Truth on Terra Bulla Arts Camp is being held on Minjerribah (North Stradbroke Island, Queensland), 13-17 May 2025. It marks two centuries since the earliest conflict between the First Nations people of Minjerribah and the 40th Regiment of Foot.

The Arts Camp winds up with a Community Day on 17 May and the Minjerribah Moorgumpin Elders in Council (MMEIC) have supplied this information about the Community Day. Thanks MMEIC!

(Amity Point is at the northernmost end of Minjerribah.)

This Facebook post has more from MMEIC. A theme is the importance of smoke, smoke seen by Captain Cook and Joseph Banks as they sailed north along the coast in 1770 and smoke today for First Nations people, from fires lit to mark healing and new beginnings.

table from Cook's journals of the smoke Cook and his crew saw; a map.

The First Nations smoke Cook and Banks saw in 1770 should have given the lie to any later claims of 'terra nullius'.
