Arrernte and Kalkadoon woman and distinguished film-maker and advocate, Rachel Perkins, has been appointed Director of First Nations Strategy at Screen Australia. National Indigenous Times story. Defending Country congratulates her on this appointment.

Ms Perkins' 2022 documentary, The Australian Wars, was a touchstone for Defending Country and we reviewed her co-edited book, also called The Australian Wars (2025).
