Last week saw the release of the latest Closing the Gap data: media release from PM and Minister McCarthy; Productivity Commission document; ABC report.
The data shows more than 95 per cent of First Nations children are enrolled in preschool, surpassing the target.
Three other targets are improving and on track to be met.
Five targets are improving but not on track to be met.
Four targets are worsening: early childhood development; adult incarceration; children in out-of-home care; suicide rates.
Finally, bearing in mind the current Parliamentary inquiry into racism against First Nations people, nationally in 2024, 54 per cent of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 18 years or over reported they had experienced racial prejudice in the past six months.
